After many years of freelance and commission based illustration & pattern design projects, Sonja’s practice and passion for mindful branding and development manifested into the creation of the Brand & Spice studio.
With a background in travel & hospitality, styling and floristry, Sonja brings professional versatility to every project she works on, to provide an all-encompassing experience.
OUR ‘WHY’ & the VISION BEYOND
My curiosity in the concept of space and brand design was inspired by my world travels. Whilst capturing the beauty of a new country through the camera lens, or sampling the flavours and smells of local cafés, vineyards and even soaking in the kitsch of the many tourist shops, I realised I was always mesmerised by the same style of business. Regardless of size, it was those businesses that were authentic, handcrafted, carefully executed and thoughtful that most captured my imagination and attention. Those where every little touch represented the dreams of their owner or the place they wished to pay homage to. Their passion exuded from every aspect of the business - from the logo, to the glasses on the table or the take-away packaging.
I realised that experiencing someone else’s passion fully was irresistible!

What is the difference between your services and THAT OF A BRAND DESIGNER / AGENCY?
Brand designers are usually small studios who provide all the services in-house. Big agencies already have full time creative team with different capabilities. Brand & Spice would be something in-between. Majority of our services are done by us and depending on the scope of the project, to better serve you we collaborate with hand-picked creatives.
WhICH SERVICES DO YOU OUTSOURCE VERSUS THE ONES DONE IN-HOUSE?
Brand design, brand strategy, website design, content creation, photoshoot styling and management, space branding - all of these are provided in-house. Coding and SEO for websites on the other hand is best left to the professionals in the field. :)
HOW MUCH $$$ FOR XYZ?
We offer two tiers with flat fee and a more custom solution for businesses who need an ongoing support through brand retainer, where we collaborate for certain period of time which includes agreed number of hours.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
Yes! For our flat fee services we offer payments in two instalments.
CAN I purchasE AnY OF THE SERVICES ON ITS OWN?
Sometimes it’s hard to decide which way to go or who to even hire. I In this case we suggest Brand realisation workshop which was designed with you and your business in mind - giving you actionable steps and road-map on how to reach your goals.
