Artful Stay In The Heart of French Riviera - Hotel Le Sud

This artful escape in the heart of French Riviera is highly recommended if you are design obsessed and prefer small, personable hotels where every corner has been created with an intention or a story to tell.

I’ve discovered Juan les Pins to be the best place to base yourself while you’re exploring the Riviera. It has walkable access to the beaches, you can stroll to charming Antibes old town plus Cannes and Nice are just few stops away by the train for when you miss the city like buzz.

Rooms of Le Sud are bright and inviting with colour palette that immediately evokes that holiday feel. As you meander through the hotel and discover your premises you will definitely be amused by the art, shapes and composition by local artists

Stripes, terrazzo floors and clay like tiles give that summery, nostalgic whiff of Mediterranean charm. My favourite thing about the design is how illustrations are weaved through all branding aspects of the hotel. From room numbers and murals to logo design and merchandise.

I couldn’t resist taking a little souvenir with myself which has been many places ever since.

‘ The decoration, signed by the architect Stéphanie Lizée will make you enjoy the charm of the South of France. Inspired by the greatest artists such as Picasso or Jean Cocteau, the artist Franck Lebraly signed the paintings of the Hotel Le Sud.’

“ ONCE IN THE MIDDLE TWENTIES, I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGH CORNICHE ROAD THROUGH THE TWILIGHT WITH THE WHOLE FRENCH RIVIERA TWINKLING ON THE SEA BELOW. AS FAR AHEAD AS I COULD SEE WAS MONTE CARLO…WHEN LIFE WAS LITERALLY A DREAM ‘HAS CHANGED FROM ” F. Scott Fitzgerald
